Communication is the process of transmitting information from one person to another. The purpose of communication includes information. Everything one wants to say to someone must be clearly understood by him, otherwise, the very purpose of communication would be undone. In an organization, communication facilitates the flow of information and understanding between different people and departments through different media using all channels and networks.

Communication can be written or oral, formal, informal and upward, downward, horizontal, diagonal, interpersonal, intrapersonal, interdepartmental, or intra-organizational. Communication brings people together and brings them closer to each other. Communication is an important management function closely associated with all other management functions.

Importance of communication

Effective communication is vital for effective management and for improving industrial relations. In the modern world, the growth of telecommunications, information technology and the increasing competition and complexity of production have increased the importance of communication in organizations large and small, whatever their type and nature.
